Marulan Rural Fire Brigade CAPTAINS MESSAGE

Hi and welcome to the Marulan Rural Fire Brigade website.

Through our website we are aiming at keeping residents, visitors to the area and weekenders informed of what’s happening in Marulan and its surrounds. We will aim to keep you informed of any changes throughout the fire season and we will remind you when its time to start preparing your property for the next fire season.

In the Marulan area in previous years, the Marulan Brigade has responded to around 60 to 80 calls as a result of car accidents, fire alarms, bush, house and car fires. There is always a crew or two ready to respond 24/7.

So far this year, Marulan RFB has had 37 Callouts since the 1^st January 2008. been MVA's , a car leaking gas and storm damage..
For 2007 Marulan had 932.5 mm or 37 & 1/4 inches of rain which has seen Marulan have much greener pastures than we have seen for a long time. With the amount of moisture and warmth it wont be long before we see the grass drying out, which could be dangerous for our district.

Contact your neighbours to let them know when & where your burn off will be held - to prevent Triple 000 being called unnecessary.

The end of the fire season does not mean we are not busy as Winter brings other challenges, with the Brigade on constant standby for Motor Vehicles accidents and Structure Fires.
The end of the Fire Season also marks the beginning of our busy Training Schedule.
Brigade Training will be held on the 3^rd Sunday of each Month from 9am at the Marulan Fire Station.
